When we gossip or think up
Evil on our neighbor…
A little "birdy" goes and tells
(And we fall out of favor!)
Seems we must weigh our words
BEFORE they leave our lips;
Purifying heavy thoughts
(Which could sink a ship.)
If we keep our noses clean
And don't grieve that bird…
Then he can't spread around
Bad things he has "heard!"
