A Sister's Lament

My mommy had a baby,
It was a while ago.
I think they call him Moses,
Or that's what I am told.
She could not keep my brother-
'Cause the King, he was so mean.
So she sent him down the river...
To be rescued by a Queen!
Now, he is a strapping man.
I am so very proud.
But I heard he had a run in
With a guard out in the crowd.
He's working on a new plan,
It is the Will of God-
So Pharaoh will release us
From working in the sod.
I heard it through the grapevine-
That we will find a "Home,"
To live on God's Commandments,
And no more have to roam!
