Then and Now

Pizzazz in her step was lively.
She dazzled - they turned and stared.
Life was a "bowl of cherries"
(She had not a single care!)
Years came and years went-
Time, it took it's toll;
The cherries were fast fading
As life emptied out the bowl.
Now gravity's bent her tender bones,
And gray hair frames her face...
It's obvious sorrow's touched her brow;
Youth - wrinkles have replaced.
But it seems she's not "missing out"
And I know the reason why;
One thing the Devil cannot steal-
Is the TWINKLE in her eye!
